IKEA has been present in Poland for over 60 years, playing an important role as an employer and economic partner. To mark this milestone, we created a series of 8 large-scale murals displayed in major Polish cities and towns where IKEA factories operate.

#POSITIVEIMPACT

As the undisputed leader in home furnishings, IKEA launched the #PositiveImpact campaign to highlight the brand’s influence on both the Polish and global markets. The campaign featured a series of hand-painted murals illustrating IKEA’s legacy, values, and key facts about its presence in Poland. It also included a two-minute animated video that brought the story to life in digital form.


The project was created in collaboration with renowned illustrator Martyna Wójcik-Śmierska, whose signature style gave the murals a distinct and memorable character.

Objectives

  • Emphasize Poland’s global significance: One in five IKEA products sold worldwide is made in Poland.

  • Celebrate the people behind IKEA’s success: Nearly 100,000 Polish specialists contribute to the brand’s growth and innovation.

IKEA Hej! IKEA Murale Set

The Murals

Murals were painted in Poland’s largest cities — Warsaw (two locations), Wrocław, Bydgoszcz, and Kraków — as well as in IKEA production hubs: Olecko, Zbąszyń, and Lubawa.


The illustrations tell IKEA’s story, from its founder Ingvar Kamprad and the first store in Warsaw, to global product distribution. The visual style draws inspiration from IKEA’s iconic instruction manual characters.
Local references — like Nicolaus Copernicus in Lubawa or bagpipes in Zbąszyń — were included alongside global symbols like planes, cranes, and camels delivering flat-packed boxes, reflecting IKEA’s international scale.
